for a friend’s birthday i’m designing a big poster for their room with like cute stylised drawings of the Pokemon because he really liked Pokemon when he was little and its still his thing.

I literally know nothing about Pokemon except that the main one is a little yellow bear named…

So, I think you should stick to the the first season pokemon, considering your friend watched it when he was younger, which were 151 (link with all the pokemons listed by numbers). The tastes on pokemons are very personal but I’d stick to the most famous: pikachu, bulbasaur, entei, charmander, squirtle, jigglypuff, caterpie, blastoise, onyx, meowth, arbok, alakazan and goes on. I hope I could help a bit :)
